Dragon Tree Labs became a semifinalist in the $10M ANA Avatar XPRIZE global competition

The $10M ANA Avatar XPRIZE aims to create an avatar system that can transport human presence to a remote location in real time. To advance to the Semifinals, Dragon Tree Labs designed Avatar Johnny that met all the competition criteria. By now, Dragon Tree Labs is the only Russian team moving forward in the Competition to win the Final Prize.

We believe in progress via collaboration of those who invent - academia, technology entrepreneurs, corporate researchers. So we see our role as creating an environment where a great mixture of professors, research experts and engineers become a community for breakthrough innovations.

There are numerous brilliant minds in technology & engineering exploring exciting ideas. Thousands of start-up teams are in the race to disrupt the way we live. However, businesses that truly revolutionized the World are once in a lifetime cases.

One aspect of innovation is inventing new devices; another is inventing popular ways to use this device. Both of them are equally essential to make it widely applied. In the way to success we see extremely important to find perfect match of technical and business partners. Even in such cases time to prototype is very limited, you have to generate revenues within first 12 months.

The most complex technologies require longer-term commitment of each party and enough funding to succeed. Dragon Tree Labs is here to co-found new ventures together with exceptional PhD talents and takes responsibility to discover mass-market use cases. We also contribute financial resources to run new businesses for up to 3 years and feel open to where the journey leads us.

Our Vision

Human-Robotic Symbiosis
Continents, country borders, place of birth & living are making a great impact on future life and opportunities. In many countries kids involved in hard and dangerous jobs instead of getting education, in others - after 65 no suitable jobs are available. At Dragon Tree Labs we believe that robotics create opportunities to work smarter (with brain) but not harder (with body). Semi-intelligent machines empower humans and extend productivity: kids get the opportunity to be exposed to mental growth while hard job is left for robots.

Globally, child labour exceeds 72m kids, of which 30% not attending school and 55% are involved in hazardous work - not for fun but to help their families to survive. There is a huge progress made already. At Dragon Tree we want to make contribution to the world and replace hazardous child work with robotics tools. Global economic environment will not be changed tomorrow and those kids who have to work can earn money safely providing services.

Even in the developed world people spend huge amount of money to commute to perform physical work. When it comes to space exploration sending astronauts cost millions of dollars exposing them to unnecessary risks. At Dragon Tree Labs we believe that long distance is no longer a hurdle for accessing hard to reach zones operating smart robots remotely.

AGVs, robotic arms, autopiloting systems, dexterous avatars, computer vision already exist independently, but when combined they become even more powerful - that's the future we want.

Fast Sense Studio
Fast Sense Studio creates on-board computer solutions enabling humans to train robotic agents to be safe and useful. Physically and virtually.

The team is driven to design, create and assemble end-to-end robotic systems to help people achieve a new level of productivity. We believe in the future where reliable physical agents become relevant for routine tasks that most of us perform today.



Arline Benchmarks
Arline Benchmarks is the first open-source automated benchmarking platform for quantum compilers.

Company's mission is to bring closer the era of useful NISQ devices developing machine-learning techniques to solve quantum-applied computational problems. Arline solutions can be used by developers of quantum algorithms in drug discovery, new materials, financial services industries.

Quantum computing opens new possibilities for creating next level intelligent systems and approaching singularity.

Promoting and supporting cutting edge research initiatives, sponsoring team for international competitions, offer internship opportunities to students
Partnered with the Center for Cognitive Modeling ("The Center") offering grant financing to top talented students studying the Masters and PhD programs. Today, the Center runs 2 Labs: Cognitive dynamic systems and intelligence transportation.

We support the Center's team to participate at the top global competitions: The Center is working on intelligence control systems for robotic platforms (mobile robots, driverless cars), researching and implementing new methods for RL, machine vision techniques, neural network architectures. The results are published at top-tier international conferences.

Also, Dragon Tree Labs offers internships to apply research findings to real-life cases.

Alexander Panov, the Head of the Cognitive dynamic systems Lab

Partnered with the MSU Machine Vision Research Group (the "Lab") which is working on computer vision projects, machine learning tools, acceleration on microcontrollers.

We motivate and sponsor student teams to participate in international competitions. In 2020, the Lab participates at the European Rover Challenge as a part of a wider team including students and experts from the leading Russian universities. The Lab brings on the table its expertise in computer vision and applies it to rover platforms.

Dragon Tree Labs organizes unique ROS-hackathons to develop student skills in robotics control tools, Gazebo simulation environment, etc.

Also, we offer internships opportunities to the Lab students to apply research findings to real-life cases
